Mexican jumping beans are found only in the remote mountains of Mexico, where they are known as a "brincador" or "hopper".
Jumping beans are harvested after falling to the ground from small trees (sebastiania pavoniana). It is during this time when rural farmers will collect them, quickly, before the monsoon rains wash them away. Jumping beans are collected by hand; providing much needed income for local farmers.
The jumping beans are sorted in Mexico; with the most active jumping beans selected for export. For almost twenty years we have been importing jumping beans. Many of our customers return year after year - enjoying jumping beans for educational activities, holiday stocking stuffers, and as unique and fun party favors. Don't forget about Cinco de Mayo!
